1. Overview This Privacy Policy explains how Magic Eigenvector Ltd, a United Kingdom-based company, the developer of “Pill AI” (“we”, “our”, or the “App”), handles your information. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

2. Important Medical Privacy Notice Do not submit information that you do not want processed by the App. Pill images, packaging images, written clues, and chat messages may contain sensitive health information. The App is designed to help with pill identification research and organization, but it is not a medical record system.

3. Information You Provide When you use the App, you may choose to provide pill photos, packaging photos, imprint details, color, shape, country or region, written notes, and chat messages. This information is used to generate pill identification suggestions, follow-up questions, and safety reminders.

4. Camera and Photo Access The App may request access to your camera or photo library so you can scan or upload pill and packaging images. Camera and photo access is controlled by iOS permissions. We only receive images that you choose to submit for analysis.

5. Local App Data App settings, recent scan context, saved pill notes, and similar app data may be stored locally on your device. You can manage device-level app data through iOS settings and by deleting the App.

6. Backend Processing Pill identification and chat requests may be sent to our backend service, which runs on Cloudflare Workers. Requests may include images, text clues, messages, anonymous request metadata, and subscription identifiers required to operate the service. We use this information to provide app functionality, protect the service, troubleshoot errors, and enforce paid access where applicable.

7. Data Retention Our backend is designed to be stateless: pill images, packaging images, clues, and chat messages you submit are processed to generate a response and are not retained on our servers afterward. We do not maintain a database of your submitted content. Anonymized, aggregate operational logs (such as request timing and error rates) may be retained briefly to operate and troubleshoot the service. Third-party service providers we send data to for processing (see Section 8) may retain data according to their own retention policies, described in the links below.

8. Third-Party Services We use third-party services to operate the App. These services process data only as needed to provide their functions.

  • RevenueCat (Payments & Subscriptions): We use RevenueCat to process and manage In-App Purchases and Subscriptions. RevenueCat may process anonymous app user identifiers, purchase receipts, device information, and subscription status.   • Cloudflare (Backend Hosting): We use Cloudflare Workers and related Cloudflare services to host backend functionality, route requests, protect the service, and keep operational logs. You can read Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy here: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

  • Google Gemini (AI Processing): Google Gemini is the only third-party AI service used by the App. Our backend sends pill images, clues, and chat messages to the Gemini model to generate identification suggestions and responses. Gemini is used under a zero data retention policy, meaning submitted content is processed only to return a response and is not retained by Google.

  • Web Search Providers: Our backend may use a third-party web search service to look up public web sources relevant to a pill identification request. Search queries are generated from submitted clues and model reasoning, not typed directly by you.

  • DailyMed: We may use DailyMed, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, to retrieve public drug label and medication metadata. You can read NLM’s privacy information here: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/privacy.html

9. Safety and Accuracy Pill AI may return incomplete, incorrect, or uncertain results. Do not take, change, or discard medication based only on the App. Always verify medication identity with the original container, a pharmacist, a doctor, poison control, or emergency services as appropriate.

10. Children’s Privacy The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
